In the movie “Selfiee” a small-town traffic cop named Om Prakash Agarwal (Emraan Hashmi) takes on megastar Vijay Kumar (Akshay Kumar) over a driver’s license. While the premise may seem feeble, the punchlines and performances are noteworthy. The movie, titled Don’t Angry Me, pays tribute to Akshay’s stardom and his ‘jabde wali smile’, as well as his reputation as a producer’s actor. Emraan’s turn as a super fan-turned-nemesis is equally impressive, with his portrayal of a middle-class and humble man even when performing heroic acts. The only downside is his Bhopali accent, which drops intermittently.

Director Raj Mehta, who previously worked with Akshay in Good Newwz, adeptly handles the first half of the movie, keeping it entertaining and breezy with hilarious one-liners. However, the second half, which centers around the face-off between the two heroes, lacks humor, though it is still watchable.
