Shehzada Movie Story
Bantu had endured a childhood filled with verbal abuse from his father, Valmiki, until he uncovered a shocking truth: he was switched at birth and is, in fact, the rightful heir to a powerful family. Taking action, Bantu moves into the family’s luxurious mansion to safeguard them from the wrath of a dangerous drug lord. In addition to providing protection, Bantu also lends a hand in resolving the family’s internal conflicts.

The film is a remake of the Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, and it starts on a promising note. Valmiki, an office clerk, and a nurse exchange Valmiki’s son with a wealthy businessman, Randeep Jindal’s son. Valmiki’s son, Bantu, is forced to grow up in a middle-class household with his bitter father for 25 years until he discovers his true identity. He decides to protect his real family from a dangerous drug lord, Sarang.
However, the movie becomes convoluted with too many subplots, such as Bantu’s girlfriend, Samara, who is set to marry a wealthy but pampered Raj Jindal, family members embezzling money, Randeep and his wife Yashu’s strained marriage, and the criminal elements trying to take over Jindals’ business. As a result, the central theme of the two exchanged boys’ fate is sidelined, and the different storylines are incoherently stitched together.
Kartik plays the role of Bantu, an incorrigible, brave, and kind-hearted young man, with ease and delivers impressive action sequences. However, his performance lacks originality. Kriti Sanon’s portrayal of Samara is gorgeous but has little to do. Paresh Rawal and Ronit Bose Roy’s performances are outstanding, and one wishes the latter had more screen time. Rajpal Yadav makes a cameo appearance, but the sequence does not contribute to the story’s progress.
The fight choreography, with its slow-motion and macro videography, is praiseworthy. Additionally, Sudeep Chatterjee’s cinematography is good. While the title track ‘Shehzada’ sung by Sonu Nigam stands out, the other songs are average.
In summary, Shehzada is an entertaining movie with its campy humor, irreverent hero, and action sequences. It’s perfect for watching with a group of friends who enjoy mass entertainers. If you’re looking for a lighthearted movie to watch, Shehzada may be worth a trip to the theater.
